Brian Lesperance

Brian Lesperance is a Michigan wine industry veteran with over 14 years of experience. He joined the Michigan wine industry in 2012, bringing nearly a decade of experience in technology business development and marketing. His background in operations and management, coupled with a deep desire to make and promote Michigan wine, has been instrumental in the maturity of this ever-evolving space.

In addition to a passion for wine dating back to the early 2000’s, he has helped wineries embrace the digital age and expand their direct-to-consumer model by bringing guests directly into the winery and vineyards. He is especially interested in varietals well-suited to the Fennville AVA’s distinctive terroir — including Riesling, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot, among others.

Beyond the winery, Brian is an active voice in the broader Michigan wine community. He serves as Secretary on the board of the Michigan Wine Collaborative, a nonprofit supporting Michigan wineries and growers, and also sits on the board of the Michigan Wine Producers Association. He is a passionate advocate for the continued growth and recognition of Michigan as a serious wine-producing region.

Brian also hosts *Pour Decisions*, a podcast offering an insider’s perspective on craft beverages — with a primary focus on Midwest wine. When he’s not at the winery or behind the microphone, Brian enjoys downhill skiing, cycling, and travel. He and his two children live in Fennville, adjacent to the La Gracia vineyard where Modales is headquartered.
