Position Overview

We are seeking motivated, hardworking, and detail-oriented interns for the 2020 vintage. We work with several wine varietals focusing on estate-grown Vinifera for our Modales product line and Michigan grown fruit for our OOBA product line. You will work within our production team on all aspects of farm, harvest, and winery operations from vine to the barrel. Our winery has a strong focus on customer experience, requiring a clean, well-organized and presentable farm, crushpad, and cellar. Having completed this inclusive opportunity, our intent is that the intern can rightly claim to understand and have experienced all aspects of premium grape and wine production. This position terminates on December 31st, yet there exists the possibility of continued employment. This is a seasonal full-time position that reports directly to the Viticulturist and the Winemaker.

Farm Responsibilities – include but not limited to the following:

• Operation of agricultural tractors and equipment

• Mowing

• Cultivation

• Herbicide application

• Irrigation maintenance and operation

• Scouting for pests and diseases

• Sampling of plant tissue and fruit

• Participation with Harvest

• Weekly reporting to Viticulturist, with discussion

Cellar Responsibilities – include but not limited to the following:

• Operation of harvest equipment

• Equipment sanitation

• Wine/must movements

• Pump-overs/punch-downs

• Tank clean-outs

• Fermentation monitoring

• Barrel work

• Limited lab analysis

• General winery clean-up

• Weekly reporting to Winemaker, with discussion
